9 Best Cafes with Wifi in Porto 2024

Porto is not as well-known for their digital nomad community as Lisbon but there is definitely a thriving presence! I actually felt as if Porto had just as many quality options for laptop-friendly coffee shops as Lisbon. So here is a list of my favorite Porto coffee shops with wifi for digital nomads, students, and remote workers.

What are the best coffee shops for working in Porto, Portugal?

C’alma Coffee Room

C’alma: Rua de Passos Manuel 44

#1. Best Cafe for Amazing Coffee and Wifi

Update: You can only use laptops at the bar table, the rest of the tables have “no laptop” stickers.

C’alma Coffee Room is the best destination for digital nomads who love specialty coffee and want a cozy space to work. The cafe has a unique design, friendly staff, tables with outlets, and a coworking atmosphere.

I highly recommend trying their lemonade coffee which has lemonade, tonic water, simple syrup, and espresso. It sounds weird but I promise it tastes amazing. Other fun drinks they have are Nitro Cold Brew, Japanese Iced Coffee, Cold Brew Negroni, and Passion Fruit juice. I recommend coming here early since the best work spots fill up quickly.

#2. Best Cafe for Cozy Vibes and Yummy Pastries

Another digital nomad favorite is Combi Coffee Roasters. They have fast wifi, mouth-watering pastries, specialty coffee, and an incredible staff who is passionate about their coffee.

It is a fairly quiet working space with big windows that provide plenty of natural lighting. There are lots of tables but they usually fill up fast and there are only a few outlets.

Fabrica Coffee Roasters

Fabrica Coffee Roasters: Rua de José Falcão 122

#3. Best Cafe for Peace and Quiet

There are three locations of Fabrica Coffee Roasters in Porto but the best option for remote workers is the one on Rua de José Falcão with its open layout and large amount of seating options. You can find a table looking out onto the busy street, indoor seating in the back, or sit outside on their lovely terrace.

While the contemporary design and cool crowd Fabrica attracts make this cafe an attractive option, the lack of wifi and raised prices often dissuade me from working here. However, it is still a popular spot among digital nomads and students.

#4. Best Cafe for Aesthetics & Specialty Coffee

So Cafe is my new favorite coffee shop in Porto, I’m a sucker for their iced oatmilk latte, minimalist design, friendly staff, and great background music. A lot of people also love this cute cafe though, so make sure to come early if you want good seating. Although, there is almost always room upstairs at the long coworking table.

They also have a second location, So Cafe – The Feeting Room, which is a concept store & coffee shop but there isn’t as much seating available.

Esquires Coffee

Esquires Coffee: Rua de 31 de Janeiro 215

#5. Best Cafe for Eating and Working

I prefer working at coffee houses rather than restaurants (and while the name Esquires Coffee suggests otherwise, it definitely feels more like a restaurant) but this place is an exception.

The staff is extremely welcoming, the seating is limited but the booths are very comfortable and have outlets, the wifi is good, and there is lots of natural lighting. Their menu is also very extensive with a mix of classic brunch foods and Portuguese dishes, all served in big portions and at decent prices.

Costa Coffee

Costa Coffee: Galeria Comercial Da Praca de Lisboa

#6. Best Cafe for Students on a Budget

While Costa Coffee is a chain and certainly not very cute, this was a life-saver when I had to work late. Lots of students come here to study, probably thanks to the cheap prices and fact that the staff will never kick you out. There is plenty of seating and most of the seats are surprisingly comfortable.

However, there is only one outlet in the entire cafe and the wifi is very slow. If you have a fully charged laptop, hotspot, and don’t mind mediocre coffee, Costa Coffee will work just fine.

Ponto 2

Ponto 2: Av. da França 202

#7. Best Cafe to Feel Like a Local

You won’t find many other people working/studying here, in fact, you’ll probably be the only foreigner at Ponto 2, but that’s part of the charm. This cafe has a relaxed atmosphere and it’s a favorite spot for locals to chat and eat.

The wifi is very fast, there is lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and the prices are great. I don’t know how long you can stay here before the staff would kick you out, I have a feeling you shouldn’t stay past a couple of hours here.

Mesa 325

Mesa 325: Av. de Camilo 325

#8. Best Cafe for Cozy Coworking Vibes

Mesa 325 is like a cozy living room coworking. Most of the tables are filled with people on their laptops and the atmosphere of the cafe is very calm.

Although it is a great working environment, I don’t come here often because the wifi can be slow at times and I’m not a fan of their coffee or food. That being said, the staff is very nice, the prices are great, and most of the tables have access to outlets.

Supernova Hostel & Cafe

Supernova Cafe: Rua Guedes de Azevedo 217

#9. Best Cafe for Snacks & Good Vibes

If you’re traveling around a lot and can’t get enough of hostel vibes, you’ll have to check out the Supernova Hostel & Cafe. Most people come here for the hostel but it’s a surprisingly good coffee shop for working as well.

The free wifi is decent, there is lots of indoor and outdoor seating, the prices are fair, and they offer lots of yummy snacks. The only big downside is that it can get loud with all the hostel guests.
