Hello! I recently moved from Berlin to Amsterdam, which means a new coffee shop blog is in the works (yayy). It’s honestly only been a few days since I’ve arrived so I haven’t been able to explore many cafes, but I wanted to start my list already.
So follow my blog if you want to keep up to date, because I will definitely be adding to this list. Or follow my instagram, linked at the end of this 🙂
Also, I’m still struggling with not calling cafes “coffee shops” which means something very different in Amsterdam. I asked my neighbor if he had any recommendations for coffee shops to work at and he just gave me a very weird look.
Anyway… these are the cafes that I’m loving so far. They all have free wifi and allow you to work on your laptop for hours.
Happy working!

#1. Coffeecompany
There are several different locations, my favorite is on De Negen Straatjes (The Nine Streets): Berenstraat 6

Highlights: Chill coworking environment
Downsides: Not much natural light, very few outlets
Coffeecompany feels like working in a cozy living room with friends. I will say it’s a bit sad when the sun is shining outside because there’s practically no natural light, but in the winter this gives it a snug feel.
I’d say this is a solid option for working, nothing out of this world.
Hot tip: Use a VPN when working from cafes with public Wi-Fi, since those networks aren’t always secure. I use Proton VPN, and with my code you can get 70% off your first two years 🙂
#2. The Miners Coffee Oud-West
Tollensstraat 53A (Kinkerbuurt neighborhood)

Highlights: Lots of natural lighting, amazing coffee
Downsides: Uncomfortable seating, limited outlets
The Miners is probably my favorite coffee chain, when I lived in Barcelona I would always work from their San Gervasi location, so this cafe feels like a piece of home for me. Their coffee is incredible, the crowd is always good, and the baristas are sweet.
However, the big downside with this location is that you can only sit at the bar by the window or the big table if you’re working on your laptop. And while I am in my 20s, my back will KILL me if I work for more than 30 minutes on a stool. But if you’re stronger than me then you’ll be fine. 😉
#3. TUKU Coffee – De Hallen
Tollensstraat 57Y (Kinkerbuurt neighborhood)

Highlights: Great coffee, lots of natural lighting
Downsides: Limited outlets
Right next to The Miners is this cute cafe: TUKU Coffee. They also have tables that are “no laptop zones” but you can work at the big table which has normal chairs and the bar behind it with stools (shown in the picture).
Overall it’s a cute place to work, with big windows and yummy coffee you can be here for a while. Plus, they have tasty pastries and other baked goods.
#4. Cafecito Coffeebar
There are many locations, but my favorite is on Nassaukade 330H

Highlights: Lots of seating, natural lighting, good prices
Downsides: Coffee and matcha is mid
So far, this is my favorite laptop friendly cafe in Amsterdam. I love that the windows are so big, letting in so much sunshine in the summer. And it’s nice that none of the tables are sectioned off as “no laptop zones”, it makes the cafe feel more friendly for online workers.
The only downside is that their coffee and matcha is pretty average and there aren’t many outlets. And yes, if you know me, you know that I love my coffee but honestly, if I had choose between a good coffee and a good coworking space, the latter will win.
